Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program 2025

The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is a federal jobs initiative targeted at young Canadians aged 15 to 30. Parks Canada’s YESS program is supporting the creation of at least 575 additional job opportunities this year, with a particular focus on underrepresented youth.

Through this form, Parks Canada is seeking your consent to collect information on the composition and diversity of our YESS program participants. Completing this form is required to participate in the program. Although all questions are mandatory, you may choose to not to disclose certain information by selecting “prefer not to say”.

The information you provide will help the YESS program to:

  1. Better understand the population applying for and participating in the program;
  2. Monitor progress on inclusive access to opportunities;
  3. Identify and remove barriers; and
  4. Make changes to improve inclusive access.

The information you provide is collected under the authority of subsection 12.1 of the Financial Administration Act and subsection 13 (1) (b) and 13 (3) (b) of the Parks Canada Agency Act for the purpose of governing staffing of youth employees within the Agency.

The information you provide will be used for policy analysis, research and/or evaluation purposes at Parks Canada. Information related to your identity groups and social background is provided on a voluntary basis and will have no impact on your eligibility to participate in the program.

The information you provide may also be shared with Employment and Social Development Canada for the purpose of evaluation and accountability of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy programs, and/or with non-governmental third parties for statistical purposes. However, these additional uses and/or disclosures of your personal information will not result in an administrative decision being made about you.

Your personal information is administered in accordance with the Privacy Act and other applicable laws. You have the right to the protection of, access to, and correction of your personal information, which is described in the Personal Information Bank PC PPU 082 (Youth Employment and Skills Strategy at Parks Canada).
