Privacy Statement

The collection of personal information for the Volunteer Centre is authorized by the section 4(2) k.1) of the Department of Canadian Heritage Act and is required to evaluate your application as a volunteer. Collection and use of this personal information are in accordance with the Privacy Act. The personal information collected will be used to analyze your application as a volunteer, to conduct a criminal record check and, eventually, to contact selected volunteers. It will also be used for analysis and statistical purposes for annual reports. Furthermore, the personal information may be shared with third parties to assess your file and its compliance with the conditions required to become a volunteer. The personal information collected is described in Personal Information Bank PCH PPU 070 – Volunteer Center* and will be retained for a period of 3 years. . Failure to provide all requested information may prevent us from processing your volunteer application. Under the Privacy Act* you have the right of access to, and correction of, your personal information.
