2026 Wabasso Campground contractor camping application
Wabasso Campground will reopen in June 2026 once the ground has thawed and water service is available (exact date to be confirmed). From June to October 12, 2026, campsites at Wabasso Campground will be available to contractors involved in rebuild-related construction activities.
The campground is only available to contractors and will remain closed to the public until further notice. Information on campgrounds in Jasper National Park is available on the tent and RV campsite website.
Wabasso Campground:
- 50 electrical sites, with fire pit. Maximum occupancy per site: 4 adults. Daily fees
- 79 unserviced sites, with fire pit. Maximum occupancy per site: 4 adults. Daily fees
The areas of the campground reopening for contractors will not have potable water and have limited amenities including:
- Firewood
- Dump station
- Washrooms with non-potable water
- No showers
Application
Applications launched on February 26, 2026. Contractors should apply at least five business days in advance of the arrival date to allow for applications to be processed. Applications are evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis.

All Parks Canada regulations apply: National Park Regulations - Jasper National Park
You will be required to provide a copy of a current Letter of Employment or Job Offer, which must be on letterhead and state the job title, term of employment (eg. full-time, part-time, casual), temporary or permanent and number of hours per week. This will be needed to obtain an Eligible Residency Statutory Declaration in Jasper National Park. The form needs to be completed by yourself with all relevant information and is required to be signed in front of a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public. Jasper National Park employs Commissioners of Oaths who can be found at the Parks office at the train station, and provide this service at no cost.
Information collected in this process is used for the administration of the Wabasso Campground contractor camping program. This information will be shared with the Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre (JRCC), which is jointly administered by Parks Canada and the Municipality of Jasper.
Please be aware that there may be more applicants than available sites. The Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre will verify all applications and may contact you for further details. Successful applications will be forwarded to Parks Canada for the booking process.
