2026 Jasper residents and seasonal staff camping application

From May 6 to October 12, 2026, Parks Canada has set aside 51 campsites at Whistlers Campground and 20 campsites at Sleepy Hollow. This camping program provides long-term camping for Jasper residents and businesses unable to find housing for their staff, as a result of the 2024 Jasper Wildfire.

The allocation of campsites will be determined by the Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre (JRCC) using a priority matrix tool developed for interim housing.

Whistlers Campground: Trailers and RVs only. No tents.

  • 20 sites with power, water, sewer and showers. No fire pits. Maximum occupancy per site: 4 people. Monthly fees: $598.50
  • 31sites with power and showers. No fire pits. Maximum occupancy per site: 4 people. Monthly fees: $545.50

Sleepy Hollow: Trailers and RVs only. No tents

  • 20 sites with power. No showers and no fire pits. Maximum occupancy per site: 4 people. Monthly fees: $500.00

Information collected in this process is used for the administration of the Jasper residents and seasonal staff camping program. This information will be shared with the Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre (JRCC), which is jointly administered by Parks Canada and the Municipality of Jasper

The following information will be collected:

  • Primary applicant name and contact information
  • Campsite occupant names, ages, employers and occupations
  • Camping unit information and vehicle information

You will be required to provide a copy of a current Letter of Employment or Job Offer, which must be on letterhead and state the job title, term of employment (eg. full-time, part-time, casual), temporary or permanent and number of hours per week. This will be needed to obtain an Eligible Residency Statutory Declaration in Jasper National Park. The form needs to be completed by yourself with all relevant information and is required to be signed in front of a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public. Jasper National Park employs Commissioners of Oaths who can be found at the Parks office at the train station, and provide this service at no cost.

The long-term campsite program provides sites for Jasper residents and seasonal staff employed by businesses affected by the 2024 Jasper Wildfire. Campsites will be assigned for full-time occupancy starting May 6 to October 12, 2026. This program is not for short-term use and is not transferable. Trailers and RVs only. No tents. Please note, all domestic animals must be kept on leash or in suitable confinement at all times. Pets are not to be left unattended on campsites or in vehicles.

Campsites offer either full service (water, sewer, electrical) or electrical hook-ups. What would be your preferred hook-up needs? Please note this is a request only as there are limited full service sites available.
