OGC Membership Application
NRCan is now accepting applications from individuals and organizations to obtain a free one-year Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) membership. You may apply as an individual (for OGC's Professional/Developer membership) or on behalf of your organization (for OGC's Explorer membership).
Information provided through this form will be used by NRCan to evaluate your suitability for membership. As NRCan can only provide a limited number of OGC memberships, not all applications will be successful. NRCan may contact you directly to seek additional information. Successful applicants will be contacted by NRCan to proceed with next steps for obtaining OGC membership.
Please review the following details before completing this application:
- NRCan is able to assign four Professional/Developer memberships for individuals and two Explorer memberships for organizations.
- Large private sector organizations (i.e. more than 500 employees) or individuals who are part of such organizations are not eligible for consideration.
- Organizations or individuals who are existing OGC members or have received free memberships from NRCan in the past, are not eligible for consideration.
- Membership will be valid for one year from the date when the membership is issued.
- Membership recipients are not eligible to apply for free membership in subsequent years.
- Membership recipients can participate in funded OGC initiatives as observers but are not eligible to submit bids to receive payment from completing initiative activities. If membership recipients wish to bid on OGC initiatives during their free membership year, they are welcome to transition to a paid membership option.
- Membership recipients will gain access to the benefits offered by the assigned level of membership. Detailed information about each type of membership is available on the OGC's website.
