“O Canada! Station” contest
To enter, send us a short video showing how proud you are to be Canadian. Your submission could be featured in Canadian Heritage’s official communications, for example, during the Canada Day National Evening Show broadcast live on CBC Television and Ici Télé. You could also win a prize donated by our partners. Visit the website to find out more.
Before submitting your video, you must fill out this form, including all required fields. You will then receive an email containing a one-time link to send it to us.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Say “Happy Canada Day”
- Sing the national anthem
- Share a message celebrating or expressing pride in Canada
- Share an anecdote or an experience
- Express what makes you proud to be Canadian
- Showcase a place, a tradition or something that symbolizes Canada for you
When you create your video, make sure that you
- comply with any applicable legislation
- don’t violate the rights of others (including copyrights, trademarks and image rights)
- comply with the technical requirements set out on the website
- have all the necessary rights in the submitted content
This initiative, including the “O Canada! Station” contest, is referred to as the “Project” in this document.
Privacy notice
The collection of personal information is authorized by paragraph (4)(2)(h) of the Department of Canadian Heritage Act and is required to record and collect videos from the public to promote Canadian pride. Collection and use of this personal information are in accordance with the Privacy Act. The videos may be included in official communications by the Department of Canadian Heritage. The personal information collected is described in Personal Information Bank PSU 938 – Outreach Activities and will be retained indefinitely. As this is a voluntary activity, the refusal to provide personal information will have no consequences. Under the Privacy Act, you have the right of access to, and correction of, your personal information.
