When submitting your complaint, do not include any sensitive, confidential, or personal information about yourself or any other individual in your response. Complaints are intended to be collected anonymously and are not attributed to any one individual, so the Government of Canada reserves the right to delete any personal information collected in this survey in accordance with the Privacy Act.

The colour restriction does not apply to:

  • common depictions of an object (for example, orange traffic cone, red poppy, blue recycling box)
  • Government of Canada assets with colours that are chosen based on tradition, safety, international convention or industry standard (for example, blue uniforms of the Royal Canadian Navy, RCMP red serge, orange search and rescue jumpsuits)
  • ads for national events and celebrations (for example, Canada Day, Team Canada) where the colours of the Canadian flag are prominent
