The personal information you provide to Health Canada will be used by the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate under the Biocides Regulations and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Why are we collecting your personal information? We are collecting your personal information for workload management and ensuring Canadians have access to products that are safe, effective, and of high quality. Your personal information will be used to validate responses and to ensure that only designated parties are able to provide product information on behalf of a company.

What are your rights? You have the right to access and request a correction and/or notation to your personal information. You also have a right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you feel your personal information has been handled improperly. Biocides Ingredients Database Request Form

Ingredients and/or associated information must be present in the Biocide Ingredient Database (BID) to be selected in the Biocide application form (BAF) prior to submitting an application in accordance with the Management of Biocide Applications (MBA).

This form is to be used to request modifications to the BID. All fields must be filled out, and include at least one piece of evidence, to enable the form to be sent to the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) for review. The NNHPD may request additional information to support the request to modify the BID.  The NNHPD will only make modifications to the BID that are supported by evidence.

Priority Type

Requests for modifications to the BID are typically processed by date of receipt. Depending however on the complexity and/or volume of requests, modifications required to be made to the BID for the submission of an application may be prioritized.
