Indigenous Artist Form (E6HAL-230008)

The Government of Canada purchases Indigenous art and traditional crafts for various uses in Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island; including communities near the Quebec/New Brunswick border). Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is compiling a list of eligible Indigenous artists and artisans in the region.

This opportunity is open to emerging, mid-career, or established Indigenous artists and artisans who create art or traditional crafts representative of the Indigenous Peoples in Atlantic Canada. This includes, but is not limited to: beadwork, carving, drawing, printmaking, textiles, mixed media, painting and photography.

Indigenous artists and artisans are eligible if one of the following criteria applies:

Other Indigenous businesses/organizations are eligible, including:

  • Band Councils or Tribal Councils, including any businesses they own and operate, or
  • Indigenous businesses or organizations that represent Indigenous artists and/or artisans that meet any of the above listed criteria (for example, galleries, art collectives, or friendship centres).

ⁱ Members of Modern Treaty business list/directories are eligible. The Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement is the only Modern Treaty in Atlantic Canada. Interested artists/artisans on other Modern Treaty business lists/directories in Canada should contact pwgsc.basatlantic-scaatlantiquetpsgc@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca to determine eligibility.

ⁱⁱ Registration with the Canada Revenue Agency is not necessary to register on the Indigenous Business Directory. Individuals can register under their own legal name if they are a sole proprietor, or under the business’s legal name if the business name is different. The business legal name is typically the name registered provincially.
