Western Region Indigenous Professional Design Services Request for Information (RFI)

Introduction

The Government of Canada is committed to reconciliation and meaningful engagement with Indigenous Businesses and Peoples.

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is committed to creating more opportunities for Indigenous Businesses and have set a minimum 5% target of federal contracts being awarded to businesses owned and led by Indigenous people.

Purpose of the RFI

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather insights and foster collaboration to improve PSPC Western Region awareness of Indigenous Business capacity for upcoming Professional Design Services opportunities in Western Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba).

The objectives of this RFI are as follows:

  • Assess market capacity and develop a comprehensive source list to support upcoming Professional Design Services opportunities in Western Canada.
  • Engage and collaborate with Indigenous Businesses interested in working with PSPC to enhance their experience and strengthen their capacity in construction and service-related work across the region. This may include sharing information on Indigenous suppliers’ Design capabilities with Real Property Contracting and other relevant PSPC groups.

This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a bid solicitation or a commitment to award a Design Services contract. No contract will result directly from this RFI. Responding to this RFI is entirely voluntary, and whether or not an Indigenous Business responds will not affect eligibility for any future Professional Design Services procurements.

However, the responses received may be used by Canada to develop or modify procurement strategies or documents for future opportunities. • Follow-up Activity: Canada may, at its discretion, contact any respondents to follow up with additional questions or for clarification of any aspect of a response.
